Norse Group are a multi-disciplined commercial service provider to a number of clients throughout the UK. One of our core disciplines within Norfolk & Suffolk is catering, and we partner with several schools, care homes and businesses across the region. Our core aim is to provide locally sourced delicious and nutritious meals to the pupils, residents and employees. We do this by gathering produce from local sources to become part of our incredible, tasty menus.

Norse Catering have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Cook to join the team and cater for the residents at St Nicholas House in Dereham working 27 hours per week over a two-week rota. which will include weekends.

As Assistant Cook, you will have the desire to deliver excellent customer care and an enthusiastic attitude. You will be responsible for the operational management and organisation of the kitchen when covering for the Cook Manager and the production of meals on site.  

Our ideal candidate:

  • Knowledge of Health, Hygiene and Safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and part of a wider team.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Experience of managing or supervising staff.

Whilst catering experience is an advantage, full training will be given.  If you share our passion for great food and fantastic service and have the ability to deliver both, we really want to hear from you.
