Assistant Cook Manager - St David's Hospice

Newport Norse is currently looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Cook Manager for St David's Hospice Care in Newport.

This position is being offered on a part time, permanent contract working 30 hours per week.

The role

You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the kitchen during a shift, ensuring the needs of the kitchen and patients are met.  Ensuring completion of the preparation, cooking, presentation and service of food and beverages to in-patients

We will provide full training if you have not worked within the industry before, but ideally we are looking for:

  • Previous experience working in a catering role
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations that are relevant to the post, including using relevant machinery and products
  • Ability to work autonomously, managing your own workload
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable engaging with members of the public and the client
