Hamson Barron Smith (HBS) part of Norse Group is an integrated design and building consultancy, providing services that cover all stages in the lifecycle of a property, offering specialist, individualised packages dependent on client requirements.

To support ongoing projects, HBS are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Norwich based team on a full-time, permanent basis.

In this role, you will provide services at all stages of quantity surveying projects, collaborating with our team, clients and third parties to prepare, analysis and present tender documentation.

Main Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing high quality tender documentation, undertaking preliminary estimates and cost plans, advising on costing
  • Undertaking preliminary analysis of tenders, preparing cost breakdowns and initial cost profile under supervision and negotiating contract sums.
  • Controlling all post contract procedures, make valuations for payments, producing financial reports and monitoring actual and anticipated expenditure against profile.
  • Assisting with project management of schemes, setting objectives, providing direction and advising on related matters including issuing progress reports and in post contract reviews.

 

Ideal Skills and Experience include:

  • Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role, demonstrating the ability to undertake work at all stages of a project
  • Professional Membership of the RICS, working towards (or the desire to achieve) Chartered Status
  • Knowledge of up to date Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present findings confidently to all levels of the business
  • Currently hold a CSCS card, or be willing to attain one at short notice
  • This role will involve frequent travel between our offices and clients so a Full Driving Licence is essential

We are open to considering quantity surveying experience at a number of different stages and will support your growth and development at a graduate, experienced or senior level depending on your previous experience.
