We have a fantastic opportunity within our Transport division for an experienced HGV Technician to join our Highways depot in Hethersett, contracted to 40hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The role

You will be responsible for the upkeep of the company fleet of LGV and HGV vehicles ensuring all vehicles are serviced, maintained and repaired in accordance with Operators Licence requirements. You will also prepare vehicles for annual tests, road test vehicles to certify roadworthiness and attend breakdowns. This is an exciting role for an experienced fitter looking to develop and share their expertise with a knowledgeable team.

Our Successful candidate:

  • City & Guilds certificate in Motor Vehicle Craft Studies, (light and heavy vehicles), or NVQ equivalent in Motor Vehicle Studies, (light and heavy vehicles).
  • Full UK Driving licence + CAT B licence as you may be required to pick up vehicles
  • Electric arc and gas welding.
  • Proven experience of working within a commercial workshop, on site, servicing, inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a range of vehicles.
  • IRTEC certificate of competence heavy vehicles mechanical/electrical is desirable.
  • Working Knowledge of Vehicle Parts.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and ability to promote best practice as an individual and for others.
