Mobile Cook Manager


25 hours per week

The salary for this role is £20,219.16 pro rata per annum which equates to £9.97 per hour.

Norse Group are a multi-disciplined commercial service provider to a number of clients throughout the UK. One of our core disciplines within Norfolk & Suffolk is catering, and we partner with several schools, care homes and businesses across the region.

Our aim is to provide locally sourced delicious and nutritious meals to the pupils, residents and employees. We do this by gathering produce from local sources to become part of our incredible, tasty menus.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Mobile Cook Manager to join our team providing dedicated & professional support to our school kitchens surrounding Dereham, Swaffham and Fakenham working 25 hours per week 0830-1330 during term-time on a temporary basis.

Your Duties:

As Cook Manager you will work closely with the on-site catering teams to drive the delivery of healthy balanced meals to the pupils and staff whilst providing excellent, friendly customer service alongside;

  • Designing and implementing menus focused on utilising locally sourced and healthy produce
  • Manage and guide the catering team
  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety regulations ensuring that best food practices and hygiene procedures are adhered to

Your Experience:

All of our staff are provided with ongoing support and training by management so previous experience is not essential however our successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a real passion for cooking alongside;

  • Knowledge of health and safety requirement in a kitchen environment, including manual handling, food hygiene and manual handling
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and within a team
  • Capable of managing the day-to-day activities of catering staff
  • Strong communicator, confident dealing with colleagues and our client
  • Excellent customer service skills

All salaries for part-time positions are worked out pro-rata of the full-time equivalent salary shown in the advert, calculated on your contracted hours per week.
