As part of an award winning, national consultancy, NPS South West operate across Estates Management & Valuation, multiple surveying disciplines and project management services.

To support the continued growth of our Estates and Asset Management portfolio, we have an excellent development opportunity for a Graduate Estates Surveyor to join our Exeter based team. In this role, you will contribute towards the delivery of Estate Management and Valuation services to meet prescribed targets, in accordance with all relevant policies, standards and legislation.

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate, as we will provide the opportunity to work in a commercially focused and professional estates team where you will have on-going support as you develop. Your role will assist multiple different business areas, including;

  • Property management including for example the management of industrial units.
  • Agreeing dilapidations claims.
  • Providing advice on business rates and rating appeals.
  • Carrying out annual Asset valuations.
  • The acquisition of land and property by agreement.
  • The acquisition of land and property using Compulsory Purchase Orders.
  • The disposal of surplus land and property.
  • Advising the Council on its let property
  • by negotiating terms and conditions for the grant and renewal of leases and licences
  • together with implementing rent reviews on existing agreements

Our Ideal Candidate:

As a graduate opportunity, the most important thing is your desire and aptitude to develop a career within an estates management discipline. This should be combined with;

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent HNC / HND / NVQ) in an estates related discipline.
  • Professional membership (or be working towards / prepared to work towards) of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Knowledge of legislation regarding landlord & tenant and compulsory purchase & compensation.
  • Experience within a previous role or work placement would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team.
